Who killed the Electric Car - after thoughts

When CARB gave in to pressure and lawsuits from car companies and the Federal Government the Electric Car projects by larger companies were dead. The new mantra is Hydrogen Fuel Cells. Another goal to be set in the future so that current status quo is retained. Who could blame them. Not only carmakers would take in substantial losses from missing revenues of the spare and consumables business (oil filters etc), oil companies from the obvious loss of oil sales but your tax authority would suffer significant loss of revenue from all those missing sales. There is also a rippling effect on the employment market when vehicles no longer need mechanics to maintain combustion engines and theire related ills. Even so any new markets would certainly created new opportunities, the net result would be less business/taxes from the less complicated electric vehicle infrastructure.

In the foreseeable future don't expect any changes. Big business and government need YOU as continued resource of revenue. Anything drastic you do will jeopardize this future and thus changes need to done in smaller steps to have any hope of being successful.
